Mobile Notary Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers: Florida caps the notary fee at $10 per stamp, you need an acceptable ID (current or issued within the past 5 years, with a serial number), I am available 24/7 in Seminole, Orange and Volusia counties, and I do not do apostilles or online notarization.

We never ask for gift cards, wire transfers or payment apps.

How much does a mobile notary cost in Florida?

Florida caps the notary fee at $10 per notarial act (s. 117.05(2)(a)). We charge exactly $10 per stamp, and one stamp is one completed notarial certificate. A General Mobile Notary appointment is from $75 plus a travel fee based on your ZIP code. The base price includes 1 to 3 stamps, and each extra stamp is $10. Any time surcharge and add-ons are listed separately. You see one all-in total before you pay. See the pricing page.

What ID do I need?

Please bring an ID that is current, or was issued within the last 5 years, and has a serial or ID number on it. Examples: a Florida driver license or ID card, a U.S. passport, a U.S. military ID, or a driver license or ID card from another U.S. state. If you're unsure, call 407-719-1226 before booking. If the signer cannot reasonably get an acceptable ID, Florida allows credible witnesses as a fallback: either one witness who personally knows the signer and is personally known to the notary, or two witnesses who each personally know the signer and each show their own acceptable ID. Credible witnesses must have no financial interest in the document and not be part of it. Each signs a sworn statement (s. 117.05(5)(b)1). Tell us when you book if you will use credible witnesses.

What if the signer doesn't read or speak English well?

If the signer doesn't read or speak English well, please bring an interpreter you trust. We can't provide or arrange one.

Do I need witnesses, and can you bring them?

Florida requires two witnesses for deeds (s. 689.01) and wills (s. 732.502). A power of attorney needs two witnesses plus notarization (s. 709.2105). Not every real estate or loan document needs witnesses; follow the instructions from your title company, lender or attorney. A will itself is not notarized. Only the optional self-proving affidavit is notarized (s. 732.503), and in that case the notary cannot also be one of the witnesses. Health care surrogate designations need two adult witnesses. At least one must not be the signer's spouse or blood relative, and the person named as surrogate cannot be a witness (s. 765.202). Living wills need two witnesses. At least one must not be the signer's spouse or blood relative (s. 765.302). If your document needs witnesses, bring your own (free) or add witnesses when you book, at least 24 hours ahead. Any witness we supply is disinterested. See Provided Witness.

Do I need a witness or notary for my vote-by-mail ballot?

No. A Florida vote-by-mail ballot needs only the voter's signature on the voter's certificate (s. 101.64). If you would still like a witness, Amanda will witness your vote-by-mail ballot free of charge if you ask. Florida law does not allow a notary to charge any fee for witnessing a vote-by-mail ballot (s. 117.05(2)(b)).

Can you come to a hospital, nursing home, or jail?

Yes. I do bedside visits at hospitals and care facilities. The notary must confirm at the visit that the signer is aware and able to sign. Jail and detention center visits happen only where the facility allows outside notaries, and the facility confirms the visit before booking. See Hospital and Care Facility Visit and Jail and Detention Center Visit.

How fast can you come? Are you really available 24/7?

Yes, I am available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Rush appointments that start within 4 hours of booking are +$40. For the fastest answer, call 407-719-1226.

What areas do you serve?

All of Seminole, Orange and Volusia counties in Florida See the service area.

How do I pay?

Pay in full when you book. Your appointment is confirmed only after payment is complete. Payment is by card through our secure online booking (Stripe). We never ask for gift cards, wire transfers or payment apps.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel or reschedule 24 hours or more before the start time, or cancel within 15 minutes of booking, for a full refund or free reschedule. Otherwise, a flat $45 cancellation fee comes only out of the travel and service part, and all stamp fees and unused add-ons are refunded. Same rule for same-day and rush bookings. See the full cancellation, reschedule and refund policy.

Do you perform wedding ceremonies?

Yes. Florida notaries may solemnize marriages (s. 117.045). You need a valid Florida marriage license. Wedding ceremonies are booked by phone: call 407-719-1226 for pricing. See Wedding Ceremony (Marriage Solemnization).

Do you do apostilles?

No. Apostilles are issued by the Florida Secretary of State, not by notaries, and I do not handle international or overseas documents.

Do you do online notarization?

No. Online notarization is not offered at this time. All appointments are in person.

Can I check the notary's commission?

Yes. Amanda's commission number is HH 611809. Florida notary commissions can be looked up on the Florida Department of State Notary Search (notaries.dos.fl.gov).

Can you give legal advice or prepare my documents?

No. I cannot give legal advice, choose forms, explain what a document means, or prepare documents. Please talk to an attorney or the party that requested the document.

What services do you not offer?

Apostilles and international document work, remote online notarization, legal advice and document preparation, translations (including certified translations), fingerprinting, process serving, and courier-only delivery.
